31st of December 2010: The birth of my beautiful and healthy twin daughters...what a way to end the year and the 365 project...so didn't plan it that way, but I will never forget this past year. Praise God for all His blessings. Thanks Rach and Lauren for playing along with me. It has been such a special part of my life to count our blessings each day. x Maybe we'll do it again in the future?!

Hair pieces for bridesmaids & bride. Plus 2 for the mums to wear as brooches. We watched while Made of Honour with Patrick Dempsey while I stitched these. Very appropriate movie for a maid of honour! Oh yes, and Han gets credit for sewing on the beads and clips. Better not forget!!

Flying to Queensland via Sydney. Qantas - that was the tastiest, healthiest food you have ever given me. Please have it all again next time.

(This was the first of 5 flights backwards and forwards for me in 2 weeks. Happy to keep my feet on the ground for a while now)

Ok. Taking this photo was hard. We had heaps of wind, bright sun and a literal plague of locusts to work around. I wish I had taken more, better, nicer photos. But I didn't. And I didn't take a single photo of the back. Guess I was just too excited about finishing my first ever quilt!!

Christmas day! I made a special request of my talented father in law for christmas this year - wooden spools for all of my lace. He made me 15 in different sizes and colours. Are they not the most lovely things? I am very blessed to have such clever families.

We went and visited the remaining Berlin wall that still stands. 2009 marked the 20th anniversary since the wall fell and as part of the celebration lots of the wall was painted with murals. It is was really interesting to go and have a look. If you'd like to see more photos of the murals head over to Lozalicious!

We had a really cool day walking around and checking out Berlin...It is a really cool place. I think it would be even more beautiful in the summer/spring! We went to the Holocaust memorial (underneath is a visitor centre which is very interesting and informative, telling many stories and heart break and hope from the war.)

So we worked out a couple of days before Christmas that Tiana (a girl I went to high school with...who we aren't sure when we last saw each other...probably a couple years after school at least 5 years ago!) and her sister were going to be in Prague on Christmas! so we arranged to catch up, we were having such a great time catching up we invited them to join our Christmas dinner (roast chicken, delicious roast potatoes lots of vegies!) It was excellent! Although...we didn't have enough forks...we only had three so Tiana took one for the team and used a spoon!

Morgan went as far as Horsham with us and stayed with Daisy for some wild fun while we went to the wedding. Their favourite game is to chase the ball. Our favourite game is to try an trick them about which way it's going to go. So intense!

The place we are staying in while we are in Koln is right near the old city gate. This was the scene we saw this morning as we made our way to the train station to go to Dusseldorf. The tree with Christmas decorations, SNOW!, someone selling Christmas trees, Tim rushing ahead to get his morning yums, and people on the their way to...wherever!

Unfortunately this photo is a little fuzzy. We went to the Koln Dom. It's a huge, beautiful old cathedral. The construction of it started in 1248, however with many interruptions was not fully completed until 1880. And it survived the wars despite being hit around 70 times (Google Koln cathedral if you want to know more!) The ceilings are crazy tall. It is really dark inside, but it wasn't a particularly sunny day outside either so that didn't help. This had to be the photo of the day because of the way it made me feel seeing this man light the candles of the advent wreath. We left Australia just before the first week of advent and haven't made it to church since. That has NEVER happened to me before. And I have fond memories of advent and it is such a special time of year. Tim and I have spoken a couple of times how it doesn't seem quite real that it is almost Christmas and maybe this is why. We are missing the preparation weeks! It was very special to see this beautiful and HUGE wreath being lit, take a moment and reflect on the season amongst the hussle and bussel of the tourists.
