Meet Dodge. He's the dog you can just make out in the background. He was bitten by the last orphan wombat the caretakers were looking after. (Apparently wombats can be quite nasty) Now he keeps a very close eye on Wollie, making sure he always knows what Wollie is up to. He doesn't plan on being taken by surprise again. Poor Dodge seems to have developed quite a nervous anxiety about everything. He does knows how to worm his head under your hand for a pat though - not scared of a scratch behind the ears!
Both animals (and the other dog and horses) provided a great experience for the kids on camp - and us grown ups too.
How very cute!! I do love wombies as I see you remember. Peter & I went to Healsville sanctuary a couple of years ago and the wombat keeper told us all about how they turn once they reach "puberty", he had been bitten, consequently wouldn't get in the yard with the one there, even though it was asleep!! love xoox
