After arriving home from Melbourne at 2am on Sunday morning, getting a few short hours of sleep, church in the morning (Joel had 2 service - I attended and sung for one), a little nap and some chicken nuggets for lunch the plan was to head out for the service to baptise this little one. Here's how that worked out for us...While heading in the right general direction we were actually heading to the wrong church. Thankfully the car (the 1986 Cressida) broke down (HAHAHAHA) so some friends collected us and took us to the right church only to discover as we were going through the gates that Joel had forgotten his computer which had the only copy of the service order on it. So a 30 minute round trip to collect it meant the service started somewhat later than planned. BUT - it did leave time to take family photos during the prettiest light so maybe that was the whole reason?
It also reminded us how loved and blessed we are here. Not a single person complained about Joel being late and just reassured us that 'these things happen, don't worry about it.' And we had a team of people who completely coordinated our getting to the dinner afterwards, loaning Joel a jumper and getting us home. We didn't make a single decision. We were taken care of. Which, consider I nearly burst into tears a few times was beyond wonderful.
I don't think we'll ever leave. We have been told we're not allowed to either!
Oh - and we went back yesterday to check on the car that we'd left by the side of the road and it started first time. I drove it straight to the mechanic!
You are so lucky Rach to find a Church family who cherishes you guys so much. Joel and you must do a fantastic job. All my prayers. Ps...loved chatting to you yesterday...and i will say what we always say...it needs to happen more often...but when it doesnt-you are still in my thoughts and prayers...xoxo
